Contessa Blue draws from a diverse catalog influenced by the legends of Blues, R&B, Soul, and Jazz. Some of their many influences include Steely Dan, Amy Winehouse, The Rolling Stones, Etta James, and more! The Phoenix-based duo delivers an inspired blend of carefully crafted originals and crowd-pleasing favorites. Contessa Blue is fronted by the powerhouse vocals of Tarah Oliver and features pianist and acoustic/electric guitarist David Robert Anderson.

TARAH OLIVER
Originally from Chicago, vocalist Tarah Oliver is influenced by pop/rock/alternative, R&B, soul, and jazz. While paying homage to her musical heroes, she makes every song her own with her unique and compelling vocal delivery. In addition to performing live with Contessa Blue, Tarah is a recording artist who lends her considerable vocal talents to numerous studio projects throughout the Phoenix metro area.
David Robert Anderson
David Robert Anderson is a composer, classically trained instrumentalist, and vocalist based in Gilbert, Arizona. In addition to writing songs for Contessa Blue, he writes Instrumental film/tv music. He is heavily influenced by composers such as Dave Grusin, James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman, and Bernard Hermann.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, he studied classical piano and classical and jazz guitar with excellent private instructors. In 1982, he won second place in the Maryland State Piano Competition.
His Japanese-flavored New Age track “Cherry Blossom” is currently in rotation on SiriusXM Spa Channel 68.
His original music has been published through Washington Street Publishing in Nashville, SoStereo in Miami, A Matter of Music in Los Angeles, and through his own publishing company Cozettas Music Publishing LLC. He is consistently recognized by Nashville Songwriters Association International as “One To Watch.” His track “Wild Vine” was recently selected to be pitched to several NSAI publisher meetings.
As an artist, David has performed music that spans the genres of Rock/Pop, Jazz, and Country throughout much of the United States.
